Nonprofit Development & Fundraising
Where Strategy Meets Story & Vision Becomes Action
I support nonprofits through the core functions of development, including strategy, research, writing, and relationship management.
My work is grounded in a Nonprofit Management certificate from UNC Greensboro, ensuring development efforts are aligned with best practices, ethical standards, and organizational sustainability.
-
Annual giving and campaign support
-
Donor stewardship and engagement strategies
-
Fundraising planning aligned with organizational goals
-
Collaboration with executive leadership and boards
In Practice:
I work with leadership teams to translate organizational priorities into actionable fundraising plans, ensuring development goals are realistic, integrated, and mission-aligned. This includes supporting annual giving efforts, strengthening stewardship practices, and helping leadership and boards understand their role in sustainable resource development.

2
Grant Research & Writing
-
Prospect research and funder alignment
-
Proposal writing and reporting
-
Grant calendars and submission workflows
In Practice:
I approach grants as both a research and a narrative discipline. First, identifying funders whose priorities genuinely align with program outcomes. Then crafting proposals that are clear, compliant, and compelling, empathizing with those funders’ priorities. I’m attentive to deadlines, reporting requirements, and internal workflows, helping organizations build grant processes that are repeatable and manageable rather than last-minute or isolated.

3
Donor Communications & Narrative Strategy
-
Case statements and donor-facing materials
-
Appeals, newsletters, and stewardship messaging
-
Mission-driven storytelling that supports fundraising goals
In Practice:
I develop donor communications that balance emotional resonance with organizational credibility. By working closely with program and communications teams, I translate impact into language that invites trust and participation, supporting appeals, stewardship touch points, and broader messaging that reinforces why an organization’s work matters and how donors are part of that story.

Prospect Research & Pipeline Development
-
Donor and funder research
-
Capacity and interest analysis
-
Data-informed prioritization of outreach efforts
In Practice:
I perform prospect research to inform strategic prioritization, assessing capacity, philanthropic alignment, and engagement history to guide outreach and stewardship decisions. This ensures development efforts are focused, intentional, and oriented toward building a durable long-term pipeline rather than transactional, one-off asks.

How I Work
I work cross-functionally with program staff, communications teams, executive leadership, and boards to ensure fundraising efforts are integrated, not siloed. While my primary focus is long-term organizational relationships, I also provide select contract development support for nonprofits navigating growth, transition, or capacity gaps.
