A Relational Approach to Nonprofit Development
I believe effective fundraising is built on trust, clarity, and shared purpose.
Relationality sits at the heart of my approach to nonprofit development. Guided by an ethic of care, I approach fundraising as a practice of attentiveness, responsibility, and mutual respect.
Relationships are living, reciprocal, and sustained over time, and they directly shape how we give.
My vision is to cultivate development practices that honor these connections while strengthening organizations and the communities they serve.

I truly believe that at its best, nonprofit development aligns three things:

​That is why my approach centers on relationship-building over extraction, long-term stewardship over short-term gains, and clear narrative over jargon or pressure-based appeals.
I view fundraising as an act of interpretation—listening deeply to an organization’s work and translating it into language that resonates with funders, supporters, and partners. This requires ethical persuasion, cultural fluency, and a grounded understanding of human motivation.
In short, my vision is to help nonprofits build funding systems that are:

My perspective is shaped by formal training in nonprofit management through the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where I developed a working understanding of fundraising systems, governance realities, and the operational constraints nonprofit organizations face every day.
